About
AquilonWeb Security
AquilonWeb works with both Netscape and Microsoft Internet Explorer browsers.
In order to maintain the highest level of security, AquilonWeb will work
with both 40-bit and 128-bit encryption. This means that you can access
your accounts over the Internet and be assured of the privacy of your
account information and transactions.
How does encryption work?
Encryption is the process of converting information into a more secure
format for transmission. It aids in safeguarding your privacy, as long
as no one can intercept the data and decipher the code.
Currently, there are 2 levels of encryption generally
available in web browsers: 40-bit encryption, and 128-bit encryption.
The 128-bit browser offers the highest level of encryption generally
available in North America today and provides the best protection when
transmitting confidential data over the Internet.
How do I determine my
browser's encryption strength?
If you have Netscape. Netscape Navigator for Windows lists its security
level in its Help menu, under "About Netscape". In the Mac version, it
is listed under the Apple icon. In the section marked RSA Encryption,
a sentence in bold describes either US or International security. The
US refers to 128-bit and International to 40-bit encryption.

If you have I.E.. Internet Explorer 4 lists the
security in its Help menu, under "About I.E.". In the section marked
Cipher strength it will say 128-bit if you have the 128-bit secure browser.
Internet Explorer 3 and below offers no easy way
to determine if you have 128-bit encryption. If you are not sure, we
encourage you to download and register the most current version of this
software.

to protect my privacy on the Web?
Aquilon has also implemented firewalls and other internal encryption
techniques. We also regularly monitor internal systems for security breaches
and are always keeping up with the latest security and encryption technology.
In addition, you will be automatically logged out of AquilonWeb if there
has not been any activity for 5 minutes.
What other things I can do to protect my privacy
over the Internet?

access your Internet account. Do not reveal it to anyone.
- Do not use passwords that incorporate your
name, telephone number, address or birthday or those of any close
friend or relative.

of pages you have downloaded to enhance performance. By clearing
your cache after visiting secure sites, you ensure no one else can
view any confidential information you may have transmitted.
- Do not send privileged account information
via e-mail (e.g. account numbers, passwords etc.).

as possible.
